Laila Jafari isa prominent civil society and women’s rights activist in Afghanistan. She was also a member of High Peace Council (HPC), a government body constituted to facilitate peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban. Before the fall of the Afghan government, she worked as the director of political organizations and integration of civil society institutions at the State Ministry for Peace (SMP) to give the opportunity for organizations left out of the peace process to take part in the Intra-Afghan peace negotations.
